VOLUNTEER LIABILITY WAIVER, MEDIA & CONDUCT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
(Scotland)
Liability, Risk & Health
I confirm that I am volunteering voluntarily with The Barnton Bunker Preservation Society SCIO (“the Society”).
I acknowledge that volunteering at Barnton Bunker may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven or unstable surfaces,
confined spaces, low lighting, manual handling and use of tools, interaction with historic structures and materials, and interaction with
resident animals, including an emu, goats, and chickens, which may pose a risk of injury such as pecking, kicking, biting, trampling,
or unpredictable behaviour.
I confirm that I am aware of and accept these risks, will follow all reasonable safety instructions, animal-handling guidance, and site rules
provided by the Society, and will not approach, handle, feed, or interact with animals unless authorised and instructed to do so.
I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, I do not suffer from any medical condition that would make my participation unsafe, and I will
inform the Society if this changes.
To the fullest extent permitted by Scottish law, I agree that the Society shall not be liable for loss of or damage to my personal property,
or injury or loss arising from risks inherent in the volunteer activities, including interaction with animals. Nothing in this acknowledgement
excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded under Scots law.
Media, Public Statements & Conduct
I acknowledge that I am not authorised to speak to the media or make public statements on behalf of the Society unless expressly permitted to do so.
I must not make false, misleading, or derogatory statements about the Society, its trustees, staff, volunteers, partners, animals, or the Barnton
Bunker project in any public forum, including the media and social media.
I understand that breach of this requirement may result in immediate termination of my volunteer role, and that where statements cause reputational
or financial harm, the Society reserves the right to take appropriate legal action under Scots law.
Photography & Media Consent
I consent to photographs or video recordings of me taken during volunteer activities being used by the Society, its partners, or the media for promotional,
educational, or informational purposes, without payment.
Governing Law
This acknowledgement is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
